History of Volleyball
Invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan in Massachusetts, USA, volleyball was originally called "mintonette." It quickly gained popularity worldwide and became an Olympic sport in 1964.
Basic Rules of Volleyball
- Each team has 6 players on the court.
- Teams can hit the ball up to 3 times before sending it over the net.
- Matches are usually played in best-of-5 sets.
- Each set is played to 25 points (must win by 2).
